Professional Certification: A Vital Option for Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery Professionals

Potential employers will know that you possess a minimum level of knowledge and experience based on your certification designation. Qualification Requirements
You can achieve professional certification through DRI CANADA programs and coursework. Each designation meets specific criteria:

• Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP): This designation is reserved for those who have demonstrated their knowledge of continuity management by achieving a pass score on the Standard Qualification examination. There is no experience requirement for this level of certification. DRI Canada awards ABCP automatically with a pass on the certification examination.
• Certified Functional Continuity Professional (CFCP): This designation is reserved for those who have achieved a pass score on the Standard Qualification examination and can prove through references and a written submission a minimum of 2 years experience in 3 of the 10 Professional Practices
• Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP): This designation is reserved for those who have achieved a pass score on the Standard Qualification examination and can prove through references and a written submission a minimum of 2 years experience in 5 of the 10 Professional Practices.
• Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP): This designation is reserved for those who have achieved a pass score on the standard qualification examination as well as the Masters Qualification examination. These professionals must also be able to prove through references and a written submission a minimum of 5 years experience in 7 of the 10 Professional Practices.

After successfully completing the ABCP, CFCP, CBCP, MBCP program and receiving this designation, recertify every 2 years.

Associated Fees

• $300 to take an examination for the first time
• $250 to process a CBCP or CFCP application
• $75 to process an ABCP application (if you wrote the exam prior to January 1, 2006)

If you take the basic education curriculum, there is no charge for an examination. Anyone who does not pass an examination can retake it within 1 year for $75.
